Bits have no history

In his inaugural lecture entitled “Bits have no history”, Rainer Böhme addresses the problem of proving the authenticity of information in the digital age. He presents selected research works on searching forensic traces in digital and digitized data (e.g., pictures).

Rainer Böhme is Professor for Security and Privacy at the Institute of Computer Science, Universität Innsbruck, endowed by Archimedes Privatstiftung, Innsbruck. Prior to that he was Assistant Professor of Information Systems and IT Security at the University of Münster, Germany, and Postdoctoral Fellow at the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley, California. He holds a Master’s degree in Communication Science and Economics and a Doctorate in Computer Science, both from Technische Universität Dresden in Germany. Rainer Böhme is married and has one son.
