Abstract: Conventional bionic hand (i.e. motorized hand that is controlled intuitively via muscle signals in the residual arm of amputees) costs more than the price of a car, and their design options are limited. HACKberry project is making bionic hand more “casual”, both in terms of price and design, by using 3D-printer and open-source. Now, many contributors around the world are printing and customising such hand in their local area. Genta, CEO of exiii Inc. will share lessons learned from HACKberry project and future vision.
The event is organized in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Austria.
