| Abstract: My experience with UML in an industrial context begins with the release of UML 1.0 and extends to the present day. In this talk I will present my observations on the industrial use of UML, primarily in the UK. The aim of the talk is to open a discussion about what the key problems are with industrial use of UML, and what some possible solutions might be. In the talk I will describe specific examples of the use of UML in the banking and travel industries. In particular, I will discuss UML antagonism in an agile projects, UML for greenfield design of a new banking system, the problems of providing effective UML training and successfully embedding UML technology in a business domain and why OCL isn't being widely used in industry |
