Computer Science at Unicamp 2011

The second edition of the Unicamp at the University of Innsbruck took place from 10. to 16. July 2011. The Institute of Computer Science offered interested pupils a hands-on experience of Computer Science.

The journey through the realm of Computer Science involved four stops:

Computer Networks and Network Security were the main focus of Computer Engineering  Computer and Communication Systems
Using a virtual trip to Alaska the successful planning of software projects was demonstrated Quality Engineering
Theoretical Computer Science took the participants on a journey into the world of algorithms Computational Logic
How millions of flights can be searched for using a database was demonstrated in the area of Information Systems Databases and Information Systems
Participants could gain some hands-on experience by experimenting with building a compiler Distributed and Parallel Systems

Dirk Draheim, head of the ZID and Franz Jung, Systems Planning and Communication Systems took the participants on a guided tour through the  Zentralen Informatikdienstes der Universität Innsbruck (ZID). This was participants could get a backstage view of the data handling and -storage at the University of Innsbruck.
